Cambodia Compass report, 06th May - The Royal Government of Cambodia's Head of State, Samdech Techo Hun Sen, announced that travel between Phnom Penh and Takhmao City, Kandal Province, as well as cross-provincial travel, has been closed. However, it has seemed that some provincial area banned Cambodians to enter to the point that they must quarantine for 14 days. This action is no different than a creating a state within a state, and if so, it is tantamount to lockdown the state, and thus the country over again. He went on to say that we must continue to quarantine those who is suspected to be infected by Covid-19, but not everyone passing through their provinces has to do so. People seem to be confined to the same cage if so.
Samdech Techo Hun Sen has asked every provincial governor, who has already issued a ban, to amend it immediately to make it easier for people to travel. He said “I emphasize that this is not to deter those who have a suspicious case, who need sampling, which will eventually lead to irresponsibility, but This is aimed at revising the decision to allow people to travel.”
