Compass Cambodia report - The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has given permission to private firms to invest US$17 million in building four factories in Kandal and Sihanoukville.
The first firm is R.G. FOOTWEAR (CAMBODIA) CO., LTD, which will invest US$ 5.6 million to establish a shoe factory located in Andong Village, Bek Chan Commune, Ang Snoul District, Kandal province.
The second firm is Xing Gang Wood Industry (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, which will invest US$3.9 million to establish a factory for the production of furniture and accessories made of wood located in the Cambodian Special Economic Zone, Cheang Gorger, Sihanoukville Province.
The Third firm is Zhejiang Jeni Furniture Co., Ltd, which will invest US$1 million to establish a sofa and upholstery factory located in the Cambodian Special Economic Zone, Zhejiang Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Sihanoukville Province.
The fourth firm is FF.LL (Cambodia) Co., Ltd, which will invest US$ 6.5 million to establish a factory to produce all kinds of packaging materials, located in the special economic zone of Sihanoukville, Sihanoukville Province.
According to CDC, these four new projects will create 2,808 jobs for local people.
