Compass Cambodia report, August 20 - According to a statement made by the Cambodian SEA Games organizing Committee (CAMSOC) on Thursday 19 August, the Chinese-funded US$160 million Morodok Techo Stadium is now 100 percent complete, with a handover ceremony planned for October.
CAMSOC Secretary-General Vath Chamroeun said his organization has asked the government to look into the possibilities of arranging a handover ceremony in October.
HE Chamroeun stated, "This stadium is built to international standards and can hold events and competitions at all levels, both national and international."
"We're also considering bids to host the 2021 AFF Suzuki Cup and several other events in December and we're definitely going to host the 2023 SEA Games," he added.
This stadium is being constructed by China State Construction Engineering Corporation, on over 94 hectares in the Prek Ta Sek town, Russey Keo district, with Chinese grants of $160 million. More than 60,000 visitors are able to be accommodated for the stadium.
