Compass Cambodia report - The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has started work on a new application and system to monitor and manage road construction quality across the country.
The idea for this new system arose when Minister HE Sun Chanthol issued an order in July to relevant officials to improve the quality of all road building using IoT. The meeting was chaired by HE Heang Vutha, Director-General of the MPWT's General Technical Department, and took place on Thursday, September 16.
According to HE Heang Vutha, the scope of work includes not only developing an app, but also developing a fully functional system known as the Road Care Supervision System.
"At the moment, the relevant working groups are sharing ideas, gathering inputs, and filling in the gaps before beginning the development process," he explained.
He added, "Through online construction reports, quality control reports, and construction assessment reports, this technology will make it easier for the Ministry's management level to monitor the quality of road building,".
