Compass Cambodia report - This Monday, as for the state of Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen's remarks during the opening ceremony of the new Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, due to the rise in the population, the urbanization of Phnom Penh's capital has nearly doubled in size, from around 300 sqkm to about 700 sqkm.
Furthermore, this expansion also results in increased urbanization, large construction, and the development of road infrastructure.
"Development is unrestricted yet well-considered. Previously, one hectare of land could only house 5,000 sqm of building, but now one hectare of land can hold up to 50,000 sqm of building, "he explained.
