Compass Cambodia report - Cambodian real estate experts pointed out that at present, investors mainly invest in the real estate sector in 5 provinces of Cambodia.
Chrek Soknim, Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVEA) , told local media that the real estate provinces in Cambodia that attract investors the most are: 1st is Sihanoukville, where real estate is most popular with foreign investors, especially chinese investors; 2nd place is Kampot; 3rd is Kep which both provinces are popular with investors from all over the world; 4th is Siem Reap; and last one is Mondulkiri province .
He said that these 5 provinces will be the mainstay of Cambodia's real estate development in the future.
He stressed that in addition to the above five real estate target locations there are also potential Phnom Penh suburbs, Sen Sok district along route 5. These areas are a new concentration of real estate and housing areas are being developed at appropriate prices.
It should be mentioned that in 2020, Chinese home buyers invested a total of US$168 million in Cambodia, accounting for 47% of the total investment of foreign home buyers, down 36% year-on-year. It was followed by Singaporean home buyers with a total investment of US$122 million, accounting for 34% of total foreign investment, an increase of 80% year-on-year. The remaining major foreign buyers were the United States ($30.5 million) and Japan ($13.5 million).
