The Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) has confirmed that the China Bridge and Road Corporation (CRBC) will start a study on the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap Expressway soon.
The 318km journey from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap currently take around 6 hours and it is hoped that the proposed expressway will significantly cut down on the journey time by cutting off a significant part of current the journey by crossing over the Tonlé Sap lake.
In the announcement of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport sent to the capitals and provinces, sent out this morning, March 28, 2023, it was stated that the Ministry of Public Works and Transport has requested that provincial governors coordinate with relevant units and local authorities in the jurisdiction to cooperate with the China Bridge and Road Corporation Corporation so that the study process on the Phnom Penh-Siem Reap Expressway project runs smoothly.
