Recently, the Royal Government has established many special economic zones throughout the country to attract investors to invest in various factories in Cambodia, as well as help create jobs for people. At the same time, the Royal Government also presented plans to establish two more special economic zones, one in Kampong Cham and one in Siem Reap province.
1. Special Economic Zone in Siem Reap Province
After the construction of the new Siem Reap Angkor Airport was completed, the Royal Government recently confirmed that it had prepared about 1,000 hectares of land near the airport to create an economic zone or satellite industrial zone for the new international airport called "Airport City" in the future.
According to the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, this economic cooperation will promote further development in the area around Siem Reap Angkor Airport.
2. Special Economic Zone in Kampong Cham Province
Recently, according to H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Kampong Cham province also received investment in Jiangsu Special Economic Zone located along National Road 6, with a total investment of US$96.4 million on an area of 68 hectares.
H.E. continued that this special economic zone will create more attractive factories to establish in Kampong Cham province, which will create job opportunities and provide more income to the people in Kampong Cham and surrounding areas.
