Techo International Airport Construction Received 82% Completed

As of August 27, 2024, the construction project of Techo Takhmao International Airport Level 4F, worth $1.5 billion in the first phase, has been completed about 82%.

His Excellency Mao Havanall, Spokesman of Secretary of State for Civil Aviation, told that as of August 27, 2024, the construction of Techo Takhmao International Airport has reached about 82%, while the remaining less than 20% must be completed in October 2024.

He continued, "The work that has been completed 100%, such as air traffic control towers. The parking lots have achieved more than 90%, while the power supply center has completed 85%, and the construction of passenger terminals has achieved 86%. All of the completed projects cost US$1.2 billion out of a total budget of US$1.5 billion, while the project is being invested by Cambodia Airport Investment Co Ltd. (CAIC).

He added that after the construction work is completed in October, the airport is planned to be equipped with technical and technological equipment to be ready to open at the end of the first half of 2025.

It should be reminded that the Techo Takhmao International Airport project has been authorized by the Royal Government to CAIC, a joint venture between the Royal Government of Cambodia and OCIC, to build and develop Techo International Airport in Takhmao City, Kandal Province, and Takeo Province on an area of 2,600 hectares located about 20 kilometers south of Phnom Penh.

Techo International Airport, also known as Level 4F, is a large airport that can absorb and receive long-haul transcontinental flights, enabling giant aircraft up to the Airbus A380-800 and Boeing 747-800. The investment company has ambitions to develop the new airport into the largest and most modern airport in Asia.
