Kompong Speu stadium area to be transformed into a satellite city

Kompong Speu administration plans to turn the area around the international standard stadium in Kampong Speu into a satellite city, including a new rehabilitation center and a modern film studio.

H.E. Vy Samnang, Kampong Speu Administrator told Construction & Property Magazine on 18 May 2020, “the land around the Kampong Speu stadium is wide and beautiful, so we want to transform the area into a satellite city.”

“According to the plan, we want to put a rehabilitation center in that area, about one kilometer away from the stadium, because there is some space left there…We can serve that area as a rehabilitation center to train the detainee to learn some skills so that when they came out of the prison they can have proper jobs and will not have to commit the crime again.”

“We also want to build a film studio there. The one that we have now is not quite good, so we want to have another film studio with a more modern design. We want to expand our province’s potential and size of the city,” he added.

Recently, Kompong Speu international standard stadium has started construction on an area of 4 hectares, located in Tamol village in Chabar Mon town, Kampong Speu province with a cost of US$ 2 million.(This news came from Construction-Property.com)
