Minister of Commerce Meets Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia

On the morning of July 7, 2020, HE Pan Sorasak, Minister of Commerce, meets with HE Park Heung-Kyeong, Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Kingdom of Cambodia at the Ministry of Commerce. 

During the meeting, the Minister and the Ambassador emphasized the importance of the good relations between Cambodia and Korea, both economically-trade and politically which he two countries' trade volume has steadily increased until the announcement of the start of the Cambodia-Korea Free Trade Agreement negotiations in the near future.

The Minister and the Ambassador discussed and exchanged views on the situation and progress at the World Trade Organization (WTO). Cambodia continues to support the World Trade Organization and the multilateral trading system, with the WTO playing an important role in helping less-developed and developing countries, including Cambodia, to gain trade and economic advantages. In particular, it has played an important role in national economic development, and the WTO also plays an important role in facilitating global trade.

At the same time, He also requested the Ambassador to promote Cambodia's better investment environment to the Korean private sector in order to attract more investors, especially in the fields of agricultural processing, electronics and automobiles to link with regional and global supply chains as well as investing in technology and e-commerce, areas of which the Republic of Korea has high potential.(This news came from MOC)
