H.E Khan Maner, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, High Representative, H.E Sun Chanthol, led a delegation to inspect the quality of National Road 51 with the participation of Ministry leaders, relevant technical experts, representatives of China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) and a representative of a technical consulting company on August 12, 2020.
Speaking at the meeting after inspecting the quality of construction, HE Secretary of State highlighted the attention of the expert committee and special working group regarding the quality and technique of construction, as well as the drainage system, traffic signs and traffic diagrams since construction starts until the completion of this stretch of road.
At the same time, His Excellency informed that" the ministry handed over this road to the department of Public Works and Transport of Kampong Speu Province to repair and maintain this road section well and use it for a long time".
On that occasion, His Excellency called on all road users to adhere to the traffic law to avoid traffic accidents that may occur by negligence, causing us to regret in the lifetime and asked the freight company not to overloading that limited by law, causes the road to be damaged prematurely.
The Secretary of State expressed his appreciation to the construction companies as well as the technical inspection companies and the professional team of the Ministry for their efforts to perform the construction work with good quality in accordance with the correct technical conditions and good aesthetics.
Please be informed that this road has a total length of 37.95 km from the junction of Udong (National Road No. 5) to Thnal Toteung (National Road No. 4), built by the China Road Bridge Corporation at a cost of more than 40.88 Million US dollars. The construction site opened on March 14, 2017 and was handed over temporarily in 2019 and is under maintenance by the construction company.(This news came from MPTW)
