The Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation’s Spokesman Mr Sin Chanseryvutha said the flood inundated the access roads to the construction site, causing only a slight impact on construction material transportation and difficulty for workers entering the site. However, the actual site is not flooded and still proceed as normal.
“There is no problem at the site. The firm [OCIC] has already known the location lowland, so the site is well-equipped with effective prevention measures, including water reservoirs and flood management systems.
“In lowland like this, effective water storage and drainage are very essential. As the company is doing so, by the time the construction is completed, the airport will be worry-free of a flood,” he added.
