Construction of two underpass projects in Sihanoukville will begin in November

The Sihanoukville provincial administration will begin construction of two underpasses in November to make it easier for people to cross the road to avoid traffic jams and accidents.

HE Major General Vong Sam Ath, Deputy Commander of the Siem Reap Techo Hun Sen Engineering Corps and the project leader, told  National Radio of Kampuchea that the first underpass was planned to be built on National Road 4 in the territory of Sihanoukville at the New Star Garment Factory and near Khleang Leu High School. His Excellency continued that the decision to build a underpass at the New Star Garment Factory was due to this point, where workers, employees and employers travel a lot at the time of entry and exit hours, which causes severe traffic congestion. He added that the construction of the underpass near Khleang Leu High School is to make it easier for students to cross the road safely and avoid traffic accidents because the area where students leave school is difficult to cross the street.

His Excellency stated that the construction of the underpass instead of the flyover is an evolution of each country and due to the view of National Road No. 4, where there are many high cars passing through.

Please note that the construction of the subway is scheduled to begin construction in early November, taking 3 months to build. The road is 29 meters long, 7 meters wide and about 3 meters high, and has a lighting system.
