Singapore investment in Cambodia in 2020 remains positive despite Covid-19 crisis

HE Michael Tan Keng Siong, Singaporean Ambassador to Cambodia, affirmed that Singapore's investment in Cambodia in 2020 will remain strong, ranking 10th among foreign investment  during the Covid-19 crisis.

Addressing the farewell to Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly, before the end of his diplomatic mission in Cambodia this morning, October 26, HE Ambassador confirmed that as of the first half of 2020, Singapore investment In Cambodia, there is about $ 2 billion, which is similar to the pre-Covid-19 investment. This was confirmed by HE Keo Piseth, Director of the Cabinet of Samdech Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, who told the media after the meeting.

He said that in 2018 and 2019, investment and trade between the two countries amounted to about 4 billion US dollars, which is reflected in the friendship and cooperation between the two countries. Year-on-year growth in all sectors, including politics, economy, trade and population change, despite disruption caused by Covid-19 epidemic.

Samdech Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin praised the achievements of the relationship and cooperation between the two countries. Samdech Ponhea Chakrei said that the National Assembly of Cambodia appreciates the fruits of the cooperation between the Royal Government of Cambodia and Singapore in the fields of politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, investment, tourism, education and vocational training, which have contributed significantly to the development of Cambodia.
