Compass Cambodia report, July 24th - A proposed beach resort development project in Phhum Thmey village in Kep province has been granted permission by the National Committee for Coastal Management and Development (NCCMD). The committee has asked the provincial government to work even closer with private companies to develop similar projects across the province.
This permission came at the NCCMD meeting on Thursday, July 22nd.
The project will span approximately 2,700 meters along the shore in Thmey village, Prey Thom commune, Kep city.
The project will feature, among other things, the construction of a 30-meter-wide natural beach, parks, and a playground.
This new beach development is being created as part of a government-private sector partnership to preserve and create public beaches and greenery in the province.
Aside from this project, there is another plan for a natural beach in Angkol village, Angkol commune, Damnak Chang Aeur district called "Angkol."
