Compass Cambodia report - HE Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public Works and Transport, has expressed his optimism that the US private sector will progressively become more involved in the Kingdom's infrastructure development by encouraging US companies to bid on more public projects in Cambodia.
HE Sun Chanthol made the statements during an online meeting with the ASEAN-US Business Council (US-ABC) on October 20. He emphasized the necessity of private sector participation in the development of infrastructure and the national economy throughout the conference.
"At this time, we have yet to see any US corporations participate in the infrastructure construction project bidding process. As a result, if at all feasible, we would like to witness their involvement," stated HE Sun Chanthol.
He also urged US corporations to consider investing in Cambodia's infrastructure development.
