Cambodia's temperature continues to rise, fire hazards become a weakness for urban development

The frequent occurrence of fire accidents in Cambodia is an indisputable fact, and recent high temperatures have triggered fires.

According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology of Cambodia, the temperature in Cambodia will continue to rise in the dry season of 2020, especially from March to May, the highest temperature may rise to 41-42 ℃, the recent temperature in the capital Phnom Penh has approached 38 ℃. High temperature weather coupled with less rain in the dry season makes fire accidents inevitable.

In the early morning of February 27, a fire broke out in a tobacco factory in Chom Chao of Porsenchey District. The fire covered the entire factory in less than 20 minutes. All the factories were burned to an unrecognizable level. The factory was basically flattened and lost It was severe, and the fire burned for more than an hour before it was extinguished. The cause of the fire was unknown, but the loss was affirmative.

On February 26, a textile fabric warehouse in Dangkor district caught fire. The fire lasted for more than 6 hours, and was not put out until 6.30 in the evening. Due to the severe fire,Kim, the first vice chairman of the Cambodian Disaster Relief Committee, personally went to the scene to command, and even dispatched 49 fire trucks. Definitely in such a fire, the goods in the warehouse were basically burned. It is reported that the warehouse was rented by a Chinese man named Lin.

On the 25th, in just one day, three fires occurred in Phnom Penh. It occurred near the train track in the new Phnom Penh subdistrict of the Sensok District at 1:00 am and around 9 am in the vicinity of the old railway at Chrang Chamreh I commune Russei Keo. And one more fire took place at around 6pm on the Chroy Chongva bridge of Daun Penh District.

With the rapid economic development, investors and local people need a relatively safe environment for construction. Reducing fire accidents and improving fire response capabilities are top priorities. Only when the safety of life and property is guaranteed then economic construction develop will be steadily and the investment environment be healthier. From this perspective, Cambodia still has a long way to go.

Secondly, Cambodia's infrastructure is outdated, the wires are aging, and electrical fault are one of the main causes of fire.Cambodians also need to strengthen their awareness of fire prevention, and many illegal operations will trigger fires.

Therefore, strengthening infrastructure construction, improving fire fighting standards, improving fire fighting equipment, and raising fire awareness are essential steps in Cambodia's urban construction.
