Based on additional remarks and preliminary assessments, ministry observed that:
-All provincial capitals have tried to organize tourist destinations and show new tourism products, as in Siem Reap, the provincial administration has tried to organize "Siem Reap vacation" events, including sports, tourism, culture, tradition, etc. Attracting thousands of tourists to visit Siem Reap.In the process of organizing, the provincial administration cooperated with all relevant sectors in the private sector to strive to follow the guidelines of the Royal Government as well as the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and Tourism Safety Rules to prevent epidemic, especially at the venue.
-Most tourists travel as family groups and many destinations, connecting from one province to another, and some prepare their own food for the trip.
-According to the observation, no major problems occurred, there was no excessive increase in accommodation and food services fee, although in some tourist destinations there was a shortage of accommodation due to the large number of visitors at the same time. Some tourists choose to camp and stay at their house or rent a house from the people in the province.
-But the problem of garbage, despite the efforts of the provincial administration and related skills, is still a complex problem, as in some destinations, tourists have improper storage of garbage, especially throwing garbage or leaving it where they eat food.
-All tourist destinations have tried to follow the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the tourism safety rules of the Ministry of Tourism to prevent the spread of epidemic under the guidance and direct inspection to the local Board of Governors, with the Department of Tourism as staff. In particular, temper scanning, hand washing and recording guest information. However, the wearing of masks by guests is still incomplete and the maintenance of safety gaps is not yet well implemented, especially in crowded tourist destinations.
Overall, local people and the private sector enjoy the influx of tourists at all destinations, as visitor spending flows directly into the local economy. Most tourism businesses are open to guests, from accommodation and catering services, while some tour guides have also taken advantage of the influx of tourists, but high-end hotels that used to receive international guests have not yet opened, especially in Siem Reap Province.
