The Ministry of Economy and Finance has approved a four-year property tax exemption for properties located in Sangkat Svay Rolum , Khosh Anlong Chien, Setbou  and Roka Kpos in Takhmao city, Kandal province.Previously, all four Sangkats were located in Sa'ang and Kandal Stung districts, Kandal province. According to a decision of the Ministry of Economy and Finance released on April 2.

Ministry of Economy spokesman Meas Sok Sensan explained to the media by telephone that the exemption from property taxes in the four neighborhoods was due to the four communes cutting into Takhmao."From this year to 2023 there are tax exemptions. The exemption, which was previously in the district of the property owner, is not required to pay tax and the deduction for entering Takhmao is taxable. So it will be very difficult for the first taxpayers in these four districts to have a tax exemption until 2023, ”he said.

According to the statement, property owners in all four communes are obliged to register their property at the Kandal Provincial Tax Branch or the Department of Property Taxes. However, the property registration is not obligated to file a property declaration and tax until 2023.

If the property owner in each of these four districts has paid taxes, the money will be used as a credit to deduct the property tax in the subsequent tax year.
