Four major tourist destinations have been disclosed to US businessmen seeking investment opportunities

While the government is focusing on accelerating tourism development at various key destinations in order to achieve the transformation of Cambodia into a more attractive international destination,Mr. So Visuthy shows four major tourist destinations to businesses from California as a sign to give those investors more to develop.

This morning, November 25, 2019, at the Ministry of Tourism, a meeting of investment and tourism delegates from Los Angeles, California, led by Mr.Huot Kimcha, Honorary Consul of Cambodia in California and Mr. Norman Arikawa, Representative of the LA Port, along with HE Tith Chantha, Secretary of State for the Ministry of Tourism, and HE So Mara, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism, and presence of  HE So Visuthy.

According to the meeting, a group of businesses from California are looking to invest in tourism, energy, and other sectors to further promote tourism, trade and investment between Cambodia and California to grow up more.

Taking the opportunity, HE So Visuthy, Leading Minister of Ministry of Tourism highlighted the high potential of tourism in the four main pillars of Cambodia:Phnom Penh, Siem Reap - Angkor, the coastal areas - the Southwest and the Northeast region, which are in need of new tourism products investment.

Following the presentation of potential and other local needs from the leaders of the Ministry, major American investment companies expressed their interest in Cambodia's tourism potential, rapid development, with Cambodia's long-term vision of achieving 7 million tourists by 2020 and about 15 million by 2030, that requires investment in infrastructure, tourism products and human resources in tourism.

In addition, the leaders of the Ministry of Tourism also emphasized that in order to achieve this vision, Cambodia needs to invest in new tourism products and link infrastructure as well as more direct flights.

It should be noted that in 2018, Cambodia received more than 250,000 US tourists, ranking sixth among the top 10 international tourists to Cambodia, and in the first nine months of 2019 More than 170,000 Americans are also in the sixth position.(This news came from Business-Cambodia.com)
