Chinese company is studying on the network of metro subway and below the river from the city center to the Techo’s heritage stadium area

Major Chinese firm studying routes for three options from Phnom Penh to Techo’s heritage stadium situated in a Techo Morodok satellite town of the city in Prek Tasek commune, Chroy Chang Va district, Phnom Penh.

Var Sims Sorya, spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, said by phone on September 6,2019 that “Indeed, the Chinese company is currently studying three train lines: 1 light rail (AGT), 2 types of Metro underground, and third Metro underwater from Phnom Penh to the Samdech Techo's Morodok stadium where the study may take another year.”

He continued “This project is a huge expense as I don't know if it will be able to be completed when the Sea Games are organized in 2023”. “The studying is completed which shows the project takes a lot of money, so the project has to be submitted to the government to raise funds for investment or construction.” He added.

Mr. Vasim Sorya said according to Minister Sun Chanthol, the Minister of Public Works and Transport wants to build a Metro rather than an air train. But it all depends on the source of funds, where do we come from?

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, last year unveiled plans to build the road under river but he did not elaborate on from where to go yet and how much of budget that will spend.(This news came from Property-Area.com)
