Also, it has been rumored that plans to build a bridge and subway line from Koh Pich to another new island, called Nareah, were invested by Oversea Cambodian investment Company (OCIC) with billions of dollars.
Touch Samnang, Deputy Director of OCIC, said that the company is currently studying the construction of bridges and subways on the island from Koh Pich to the city of Nareah Island City, which is pouring soil and rocks on the site of the old island which collapsed due to flooding of the Mekong River.
According to the study, there are two options: first, to build a bridge with string or cable which has two orbits with a length of 1,000 meters and cost between $ 60 and $ 70 million and the second option is to build a subway with the same length and size, but cost up to $ 200 million.
The island under development is about 100 hectares that is 3.5 km long,there is also filling the soil along Mekong River Krom about 300 meters.And this new island is expected to be similar arranging to today's Diamond Island.
The total cost of the project is up to US $ 2,000 million, which is to be spent on the construction of the island city, including the bridge or subway under river which are they studying.(This news came from Business-Cambodia.com)
