The 2025 "Cambodia-China Year of Tourism" will be officially launched next week in Henan province of China. This according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Tourism on 17 February.
The Ministry of Tourism of Cambodia, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, will hold the closing ceremony for the "2024 Cambodia-China People-to-People Exchange Year" alongside the official opening ceremony for the 2025 "Cambodia-China Year of Tourism".
The event will include joint Cambodia-China national art performances, Cambodia’s martial art – Kun L’bokator, and Shaolin Kung Fu performances, as well as a fashion show showcasing traditional Cambodian and Chinese costumes, along with several other significant programmes.
"This event will play an important role in promoting Cambodia-China tourism while also enhancing Cambodia’s prestige, cultural arts, and tourism potential in the international market, particularly the Chinese market" the ministry stated.
The ministry add that, it represents an opportunity to connect and broaden people-to-people contacts, strengthen trade relations, foster partnerships and cooperation, and contribute to building a "Cambodia-China Community of Shared Future", while continuing to support the "Cambodia-China Diamond Hexagon cooperation"
It should be mentioned that, Cambodia and China launched the "2024 Cambodia-China People’s and People’s Exchange Year" in January 2024 in Siem Reap province.
Under the framework of cooperation to achieve building up a common destiny between Cambodia and China, cooperation between both countries has grown and improved across all fields, especially tourism.
Last year, Cambodia welcomed 848,952 Chinese tourists, showing a dramatic rise of 55 percent from 547,798 in 2023, as reported by the Ministry of Tourism.
