Gov’t Extends Tourism-Related Business Tax Exemption with three major measurements

Compass Cambodia report -  This announcement was issued on 15 July 2022. There are three major measures for tax exemption:

1. continue to exempt all types of monthly taxes, except for value-added tax on hotels, guesthouses and travel agencies registered with the General Department of Taxation, which has business activities in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and Sihanoukville for a period 3 months more from July to September 2022.

2. coordinated by continuing freezing debt figures by the end of 2019 with penalties exception as of 2022 for the tourism sector.

3. promote businesses in the tourism sector, by developing skilled programs for their own staff and be able to request financial support from the Skills Development Fund (SDF) project as needed.

This exemption was made to restore Cambodia’s economic growth in the near and medium term to return to potential growth and strengthen resilience for sustainable and environmental socio-economic development under the strategic framework and The program to restore and promote Cambodia’s economic growth in living with Covid-19 in the new normal for 2021-2023.
