Three communes in Pursat province's Veal Veng district will be organized into cities as the province's population increases to 520,752 people, equivalent to 132,855 families. This was stated by H.E. Khoy Rida, Governor of Pursat Province, at the press conference on “Success in the past five years” of Pursat Provincial Administration on March 7, 2023.
H.E. Governor said that the Veal Veng district would be organized into three targets, including Thmorda area, which will be organized as a city to become a new international port in the future.
He added that we need to design a development plan to become a city that is beautiful, quality, efficient, and attractive for both tourism and investment and access between Thailand and Cambodia.
His Excellency continued that the joint working group of the provincial level is preparing to study and draw the master plan in Thmor Da commune, Bramoy commune, and OSom commune, which are priority communes in the target that the province considers.
HE Governor explained that Thmor Da commune is a special economic development zone with international trade relations, while Pramoy commune is an administrative town area and Osom commune is a natural tourism area.
His Excellency finally confirmed that if we do not prepare to think about now, the next day, the area will become a chaotic city, losing its beauty.
