The Russey Keo concrete bridge will be officially inaugurated on May 31, 2023, according to the Phnom Penh municipal administration's announcement.
The official inauguration ceremony will be presided over by Prime Minister Hun Sen.
The new bridge plays a key role in easing the traffic flows and people's travel in the capital.
Constructed by the Overseas Cambodia Investment Corporation (OCIC), a local construction company, at a total cost of $35 million, the new bridge crossing the Tonle Sap river is located in Khan Chroy Changvar and Khan Russey Keo.
The 642-meter-long and 20.5-meter-wide bridge was broken ground in October 2017 under the presidency of Prime Minister.
