This investment will be divided into two phases, with the first phase being $300 million and the second phase being $200 million.
There is a company that we have not yet named, and the company is considering investing in Cambodia, Thailand, or Malaysia with a capital of $500 million. The government met with the president of the company, who explained the potential of Cambodia and why the company should invest in Cambodia. Then they came to meet me and said the company decided to invest in Cambodia with that $500 million investment, of which the first phase is about $300 million and the second phase is about $200 million."
H.E. The Deputy Prime Minister continued, "Now the company is considering placing it in a special economic zone in Sihanoukville or in a special economic zone in Svay Rieng province; it can be anywhere, as long as it creates jobs for the nation and Cambodian people."
However, the meeting with the above company, which was mentioned by H.E. deputy prime minister after the accompanying visit of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, to the Third Belt and Road Forum in the People's Republic of China.
Please be informed that after attending the Third Belt and Road Forum, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister continued to visit major Chinese companies to persuade and encourage them to invest in Cambodia.
From October 20 to 24, the Deputy Prime Minister met with 12 major Chinese companies in various fields. During those meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister introduced them to Cambodia's investment policy. In particular, the political support and incentives of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, encourage local and foreign investors to invest in Cambodia.
