Large Construction Company Plans to Establish Human Resource Training Institute in Cambodia

Beijing Urban Construction Group Co., Ltd. (BUCG), a large Chinese state-owned construction company, presented plans for the establishment of a human resource training institute in Cambodia and other investment projects. This was stated by Mr. Li Daosong, chairman of the company, in a meeting with Samdach Thipadei Hun Manet on December 7, 2023.

In the above meeting, Mr. Li also informed Samdech Thipadei about some of the investment projects of the company related to water and wastewater treatment in some provinces and cities in Cambodia, including Battambang, Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, Kampong Speu, Sihanoukville provinces, and Serei Sophorn City.

In addition, the company is studying the feasibility of constructing a water treatment system in the eastern part of the Mekong River and the western part of the Upper Mekong River, as well as a project to establish a human resource training institute in the field of water and wastewater treatment as well as some other sectors.

In addition, the chairman of BUCG also informed the Prime Minister that the company will bring new technologies to implement its projects to contribute to the development of Cambodia in accordance with the first phase of the Pentagon strategy, which was launched by the Royal Government of the 7th mandate.

The Prime Minister of Cambodia praised the company's contribution to the water supply sector in Cambodia, especially the investment projects related to water and sewerage, as well as cooperation with the TECHO SEN Institute of Public Works and Transport to provide human resource training in sewerage systems, urban and suburban railways, and the construction of roads and bridges.

He added that the Royal Government of Cambodia supports the project to establish a human resource training institute and urged the company to continue to bring new technologies to contribute to the wastewater treatment system and water supply to support environmental protection and promote public health in Cambodia and encourage companies to explore the possibility of expanding investment in other potential areas, such as physical infrastructure.
