The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdach Thipadei Hun Manet, has announced the development direction of the Run Ta Ek area to become a new city and instructed the relevant ministries and institutions to cooperate in organizing the infrastructure and administrative system to achieve this goal, which the infrastructure has remarkably achieved.
This announcement was made by the Prime Minister of Cambodia during a meeting with nearly 3,000 people living in Run Ta Ek Natural Village and Peak Sneng Area, which took place on the morning of December 8, 2023, at Run Ta Ek Natural Village, Banteay Srei District, Siem Reap Province.
Samdach Thipadei stated that "I see this place is not an ordinary district, and Samdech Techo Hun Sen has already set the direction that the infrastructure of this place should be organized into a city, so be prepared to meet the conditions to be Run Ta Ek city."
PM confirmed that in the Run Ta Ek development area, there are many roads; there are more than 200 roads, or nearly 300 roads, including 55 concrete roads. Water supply and electricity are gradually connected. Although it is not 100% completed, spending 400 days to do that is already great and very difficult to provide for people's needs.
Samdach Thipadei told the people that soon the infrastructure in the Run Ta Ek development area will grow into a city.
The Prime Minister has been paying attention to the Run Ta Ek development area since the beginning of his term, urging H.E. Say Sam Al, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction, to monitor the development work here and not be careless.
He also thanked the Ministry of Land Management, Ministry of Rural Development, Samdech Techo Engineering Corps, Electricite Du Cambodge, Water Supply Authority, Ministries, Institutions, Departments, and Local Authorities, as well as all the people in the Run Ta Ek Development Zone and Peak Sneng Development Zone who have participated in the implementation of past development work and achieved remarkable results.
He added that the work will continue to be carried out for the people, not leaving them in these two development areas.
