"Samdech Techo Hun Sen Koh Yor Bridge," worth more than $1.3 million, has been officially inaugurated

With a budget of $1.3 million, the inauguration of the Koh Yor Bridge, now known as the Samdech Techo Hun Sen Koh Yor Bridge, in Pak Klang Commune, Mondul Seima District, Koh Kong Province, took place in a momentous ceremony presided over by Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on January 8, 2024.

The new bridge stands as a symbol of progress and a precious gift from Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, facilitated through HE Neak Oknha Ly Yong Phat, Senator, and Lok Chumteav. The inauguration marks a significant achievement for the residents of Pak Klang Commune, enhancing connectivity and facilitating smoother traffic for both locals and tourists designed to replace the deteriorating ballet bridge crossing the Koh Yor canal

It should be reminded that Koh Yor Bridge spans 120 meters in length and 11 meters in width. Situated in Pak Khlang Commune, Mondul Seima District, Koh Kong Province, the bridge was opened in June 2022 and successfully completed in June 2023, with a total investment of $1,387,000. 

In addition to the inauguration ceremony of the above bridge, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also met with 11,000 workers from all 5 factories and enterprises.

Samdech stated that the biggest goal of the policy of the Royal Government of Cambodia is to continue to maintain peace for the people and develop them to have a better life.

"In the post-war period until now, our politics has shifted from triangles to rectangles and pentagons. Our priority is to shift from peacekeeping to strengthening the priority resources of human resources, roads, water, electricity, and technology. In addition, we have made some adjustments, but the two main goals are: first, to maintain peace; and second, to develop the people. This is the biggest goal for us—to take the people as a basis for our people to live in peace and have more opportunities," Samdech stated.

Samdech Thipadei added that from now to the future, we must work together to develop the country, maintain peace, prevent the return of war, preserve the achievements of the previous generation, and continue to work to leave the achievements to the next generation.

Moreover, the Prime Minister also confirmed that he will officially announce another new program, a special program to promote investment in Sihanoukville to solve some construction issues, on January 25.
