The Royal Government is seeking partners to invest in 174 projects with $36.6 billion in investment

The Royal Government promotes the dissemination of the “Comprehensive Master Plan on the Cambodian Transport and Logistics System 2023-2033,” which requires 174 investment projects and requires an investment capital of $36.6 billion.

The announcement was made at a meeting and discussion on the logistics system in Cambodia with the participation of inter-ministerial-relevant institutions and the private sector on the morning of February 20, 2024. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia, and Chairman of the National Logistics Council.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister requested all stakeholders, both public and private, to widely disseminate the Comprehensive Master Plan on the Cambodian Transport and Logistics System 2023-2033, a new national master plan to encourage Cambodia to attract more investment.

The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that Cambodia has a master plan to identify 174 priority projects, including 94 road projects, 8 railway projects, 23 river transport projects, 20 sea transport projects, 10 air transport projects, 15 logistics systems, and 4 additional projects.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the total financing demand is estimated at $36.6 billion, of which the short-term and average demand from 2023 to 2027 is about $19.92 billion.

Please be informed that the Comprehensive Master Plan on the Cambodian Transport and Logistics System 2023-2033 was officially approved by the Royal Government of Cambodia on August 2, 2023, including 7 integrated master plans, including roads, railways, waterways, ports, logistics, air, and transit transport, with 174 projects, both software and hardware.

The 174 projects mentioned above also include the $1.7 billion Funan Techo Canal project, which is scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2024.
