According to the same source, on March 6, 2024, H.E. Khan Maner, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, led a working group to inspect the project with the participation of CRBC Construction Company and Guangzhou Wanan Technical Inspection Company.

The team tested the project with an FWD machine to verify the durability of the Subcase, Basecourse (average result 453 MPa–507 MPa), first layer of AC concrete layer (439 MPa–536 MPa), and drill the first AC layer thickness (average result 4.2 cm–5 cm).

After the inspection, the working group confirmed that the project to restore and improve the quality of National Road No. 31 has reached 60%, and by the end of June, the first and second layers of Alpha Concrete work will be completed so that people can travel smoothly.

Other works, such as the installation of additional road equipment, drainage systems on both sides of the road, and some other work, may be completed by the end of 2024, ending one year before the contract.

It should be noted that this road has a total length of 53.539 km from Thnol Bek Koos (junction of National Road 3) to Kampong Trach district town (junction of National Road 33). The project to rehabilitate National Road 31 is expected to cost more than $60 million, a concessional loan from the Government of the People’s Republic of China, along with a contribution from the Royal Government of Cambodia to address the impact and taxes.
