In the first two months of 2024, the total number of enterprises in the entire Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone achieved a total export and import value of $628 million. This is according to the press release of the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone on March 21, 2024.
The trade volume increased by 38.3% compared to the same period last year, the source said.
Since 2024, Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone has attracted eight new enterprises, while a total of 188 enterprises are investing from around the world.
At the same time, Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone will continue to promote industrial competition, focusing on attracting investment projects such as machinery, equipment, automobiles, tires, and new photovoltaic materials.
It should be noted that, considering the volume of trade throughout Cambodia with major countries for the first two months in 2024, it amounted to more than $8 billion, an increase of nearly 20% compared to the same period in 2023.
