Under the high guidance of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the meeting was organized to discuss the progress of the development of the existing railway system in Cambodia.

The meeting discussed and exchanged views in order to review the relevant work to identify challenges and find ways to improve the existing railway system more effectively and promote more diversified transit activities in Cambodia.

It should be noted that the government has put in place a number of railway development plans to facilitate people's travel, especially the transportation of goods. These include the Phnom Penh Subway, the light rail line from Techo Takhmao Airport to Phnom Penh, the light rail line from Angkor Siem Reap Airport to Siem Reap City, the upgrade project of the northern section of the Phnom Penh-Poipet railway, which will develop into a high-speed railway in the future, and many new road projects.
