Bridge Across the Mekong River Project in Kratie to Be Completed Before Deadline

The construction of a bridge across the Mekong River in Kratie province will be completed ahead of schedule, with the construction of the bridge completed 45.5%. This is according to a quote from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, published on April 2, 2024.

According to the Ministry, by the end of March 2024, the construction of the bridge across the Mekong River in Kratie province had reached 45.5%, while the construction of the road had reached 23%, and the overall project had completed 32%, which shows progress in a positive direction toward the implementation of the above project. The project is scheduled for completion in September 2026, but according to the company, construction will be completed ahead of schedule.

Please be informed that this project of the bridge across the Mekong River has a total length of 1,761 meters, connecting the east bank in Bos Leav commune, Chetr Borei district, to the west bank in Saob commune, Preaek Prasab district, Kratie province, with a construction cost of approximately $111.98 million. The project also includes the construction of a total of 15.490 km of connecting roads (7.684 km on the east bank and 7.806 km on the west bank) and four side roads with a total length of 16.208 km.

The main bridge project is being built by Shanghai Construction Company (SCG) and overseen by Guangzhou Technical Consulting Co., Ltd. When the bridge project is operating, it will greatly benefit the national economy and the family economy by facilitating the travel of people, tourists, and the transportation of all kinds of goods or agricultural products.
