In the first quarter of 2024, Cambodia received more than 1.5 million international tourists

According to data from the Ministry of Tourism, in the first three months of 2024, Cambodia received a total of more than 1.5 million international tourists, an increase of 22.5% compared to the same period in 2023 and a decrease of about 15% compared to 2019, just before the COVID-19 crisis.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, Thai tourists were the most foreign tourists visiting Cambodia in the past three months, with 419,781 tourists, which is about 26.5 percent of the total number of foreign tourists. Vietnamese tourists came in second with 299,391, up 44 percent compared to the same period last year. Chinese tourists remained third, with 189,961 tourists entering Cambodia in the first three months, up 43.2 percent compared to the same period last year.

The number of Lao tourists ranked fourth with 90,171, an increase of 46% over the same period last year.

In addition to tourists from other countries, such as the 66,752 Americans, 66,498 Koreans, 43,661 French, 38,558 British, 37,914 Indonesians, and 32,148 Japanese.

According to the report, the number of tourists entering Cambodia through the land border checkpoint was the largest, with more than 908,000 foreign tourists entering Cambodia through the land border checkpoint in the past three months, with more than 641,000 foreign tourists arriving at the airport checkpoint and more than 32,000 foreign tourists by waterway.
