In September, the CDC approved 28 investment projects with a total investment of $443 million

28 investment projects with a total investment capital of US$443 million were approved by the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in September 2024.

According to the press release, in September 2024, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 26 new projects and 2 production expansion projects with a total investment of US$443 million and a total of nearly 25,000 jobs.

Of the total investment projects, 6 are located outside the special economic zones (SEZ) and 22 investment projects are located in SEZ.

Notably, the most prominent investment projects this September include:

I, Outside the Special Economic Zone

(1) Production expansion project of the garment factory investment project located in Phum Prey Kei Kha and Phum Prey Kei Kor, Sangkat Pong Teuk, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh with an additional investment of US$12.5 million and will create 2,505 jobs.

II, Inside the Special Economic Zone

(1) The project to establish Pursat Special Economic Zone, located in Saravoan village, Snar Ansa commune, Krakor district, Pursat province, with an investment of over US$70 million and can create 708 jobs.

(2) The project to establish a Special Economic Zone, located in Trapeang Chhlong village, Nhor commune, Preah Bak Ka village, Prey Sakum village, Prey Thom commune, Kampong Rou district, Svay Rieng province, with an investment of US$55 million, creating 251 jobs.

(3) Investment project to establish manufacturing and assembly of specific components, machinery, and mechanics located in Pursat Special Economic Zone with an investment capital of over US$38 million and can create 8,918 jobs.

(4) Investment project to establish a factory to process dairy products, all kinds of non-alcoholic beverages, and all kinds of food, located in the Sovannaphum Special Economic Zone with an investment of over US$37 million and can create 58 jobs.

(5) Investment project to establish a factory to produce power wire, cables, steel cable rollers, and wooden cable rollers, located in the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone with an investment of US$25 million and can create 1,188 jobs.

(6) Investment project to establish an aluminum processing plant located in the Manhattan Special Economic Zone with an investment of more than US$20 million and can create 684 jobs.

It should be noted that in September 2024, investment from China ranked first, accounting for 38.23% of total investment, while domestic investment accounted for 32.92% of total investment.
