The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Manet, stated at a networking breakfast of “Enhancing Economic Connectivity and Resilience” on October 10 that he highlighted the comprehensive master plan for Cambodia's transport and logistics system 2023-2033.
The master plan identified 174 priority projects, including 94 road projects, 8 railway projects, 23 river transportation projects, 20 sea transportation projects, 10 air transportation projects, 15 logistics systems, and other 4 additional projects.
The prime minister said that the 174 transportation investment projects in the next 10 years have a total investment of about US$36.68 billion.
“This master plan presents unique and unlimited opportunities for local and international investors, especially considering the development of public-private partnership mechanisms,” he added.
He also stated that in the last decade, Cambodia has always been ranked among the least developed countries (LDCs) that receive the most foreign investment. The inclusion of Cambodia in the 2024 list of the top 50 FDI targets in the world underscores Cambodia's attractiveness to global investors.
According to the Prime Minister, Cambodia has experienced strong economic growth as the Royal Government has maintained a pro-business approach by providing support and assistance to the private sector at all stages of business operations.
“We have implemented comprehensive laws, policies, and strategies to improve the business environment and invest in key infrastructure, access to regional markets, job creation, and social protection,” he continued.
