The project to rehabilitate and improve the quality of National Road No. 31 has achieved almost 100% results. This was confirmed by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport on November 5, 2024.
The Ministry said that the National Road No. 31 Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project is one of several road projects managed by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport. In addition to its spaciousness, National Road No. 31 is also beautiful, accompanied by rice fields, people, and green plants.
The Ministry further stated that so far, the project to restore and improve the quality of National Road No. 31 with a total length of 53.54 kilometers (from Bek Kus, the intersection of National Road No. 3, to Kampong Trach district (provincial town), the connection point of National Road No. 33) has achieved almost 100% results, which means that people can travel easily and save time.
His Excellency Khan Maner, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Director of the National Road No. 31 Rehabilitation and Upgrading Project, regularly visited to monitor the construction work of the company, aiming for the construction to be in accordance with technical standards and construction contracts, guaranteeing the construction has a strong quality and durability.
It should be informed that the National Road No. 31 project is planned to spend more than US$60 million, which is a concessional loan from the Government of the People's Republic of China, together with the contribution of the Royal Government of Cambodia for dealing with the impact and various taxes.
In the field of infrastructure in the direction of the coastal province, the Royal Government plans to build and improve National Road No. 31, No. 33, and No. 41 at the same time to connect the national road network and connect Kep with the national road No. 3, which has just been completed recently.
