Over 6 million National&International Tourists Attended the 3-Day Cambodia Water Festival

During the three days of the Royal Boat Racing Festival, Lanterns Floating, Taste the Ambok, and Worship the Moon in 2024, more than 6 million national and international tourists visited the boat racing at the Chaktomuk River, shopping at exhibition booths, and watching concerts in traditional and contemporary art forms in public parks, with fun-filled excursions under the shade of peace.

This was confirmed by Ms. Do Samphors, Deputy Director of Administration and Spokesperson of Phnom Penh Capital Administration.

For the first day of the Royal Water Festival in Phnom Penh in 2024, there were more than 1.1 million visitors; the second day was more than 2.2 million; and the third day was more than 2.9 million visitors.

The spokesperson continued that for the work of maintaining security, tidyness, and order, there is protection and security by the attention of the civil servants, the competent forces under the wise leadership of Samdech Moha Bovor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia. In accordance with the high recommendation of the prime minister and with the attention from H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh, together with the national leaders and all relevant forces to make this royal ceremony receive better order, security, and no noticeable problems.

In the year 2024, the Royal Boat Racing Festival, Lanterns Floating, Taste the Ambok, and Worship the Moon took place from 14-16 November 2024 on the Chaktomuk River in front of the Royal Palace to allow people to enjoy celebrating the traditional Khmer festival that has existed since ancient times, as well as watch the floating lanterns, fireworks, modern-day and ancient music and art performances for the whole 3 nights.
