Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) have recently agreed and urged the governments of the two countries to expedite the selection of sites for the construction project of the "Tonle Ropov-Selampao Bridge" in Preah Vihear province of Cambodia and Champasak province of Laos as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has received the in-principle approval of the Royal Government of Cambodia to promote the construction of the Tonle Ropov-Selampao Bridge to become a “bridge of friendship, peace, cooperation and border development between the two countries, Cambodia and Laos.”
The bridge will become a new historical achievement between both nations, based on the spirit of good neighbourliness and prosperity, as well as promoting the comprehensive and long-term strategic partnership between the two countries.
After construction, this bridge will become another important gateway in connecting the transport routes between the two countries, promoting bilateral trade growth.
