Compass Cambodia report - According to the Ministry of Economy and Finance's draft law on financial management 2022, construction on the Chroy Changvar-Svay Chrum bridge might begin next year because it is on the government's prioritized list for the 2022 spending plan.
The Cambodia-Korea Friendship Chroy Changvar - Svay Chrum bridge is one of seven prioritized infrastructure development projects to be implemented next year's spending plan (via foreign and local financial sources), according to the draft law.
This bridge will span the Mekong River, connecting the Phnom Penh neighborhoods of Chroy Changvar and Lvea Em in Kandal province. The Republic of Korea will fund the initiative, which was unveiled last year.
South Korean experts are currently researching the design and choosing locations for the bridge, according to spokesman Vasim Sorya of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) in July.
