The bridge connecting Koh Norea in Niroth commune, Chbar Ampov district to Koh Pich, located in Tonle Bassac commune, Chamkar district, Phnom Penh, is about 90 percent completed and it is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023.
Ung Ron, who was involved in the construction of the bridge, told local news that “The Koh Norea bridge to be connected to Koh Pich may be completed by the end of 2023, as it is currently 90 percent completed.”
Ung Ron also stated that the construction of this cable-stayed bridge was started on October 26, 2020, and is estimated to take 35 months.
Keut Chhe, Deputy Governor of Phnom Penh, said at the end of May that the Koh Pich-Koh Nora cable-stayed bridge would connect Phnom Penh’s central traffic to National Road No. 1, by reducing traffic congestion on both Monivong Bridge.
The bridge connecting Koh Norea to Koh Pich is 824 meters long and 24.50 meters wide and to build at a cost of $38 million.
