A report from the Ministry of Economy and Finance showed that in 2023, 3,207 construction projects were granted construction permits, worth a total investment of $5,461 million, an increase of 84% compared to the investment in 2022.
In particular, compared to the number of construction projects in 2023 (3,207 projects) with 2022, there was a decrease of 1,068 projects, but there was an increase in the number of construction areas of 13.31 million square meters, an increase of 80% compared to 2022.
Among the projects, 2,700 are housing projects, including 2,606 borey projects and 94 condominium projects.
Besides, there are 190 industrial construction projects, 198 commercial construction projects, 55 tourism construction projects, 3 investment construction projects, and 61 public construction projects.
The Ministry of Economy and Finance stated that in 2023, the construction sector achieved good growth in both construction area and construction investment compared to 2022.
“The positive impact of the increase in private investment has made the construction sector achieve better growth, especially in large construction projects compared to 2022,” the ministry said.
