The Royal Government of Cambodia is commited to reduce the situation of floods in Phnom Penh

Phnom Penh has planned to build an underground reservoir, pumping station and construct new drainage system to transfer waste from Bassac river to Bung Chung Ek station. After the implementation of these infrastructure projects, the drainage system in Phnom Penh will be renovated and the floods in Phnom Penh will be reduced as soon as possible.

The Capital Hall plans to launch the above mentioned infrastructure project this month, and constructing underground reservoir, pumping station, and the construction of a new drainage system may be completed in November 2020. After the project is implemented, it will be actively involved in facilitating local drainage. Phnom Penh and to solve the problem of floodwaters in every corner of the city. The Capital Hall will install a large drainage system to drain water along the Tonle Bassac River and continue to pour into the lake Boeung Choeung Ek.

At the same time, the Capital Hall will build two underground reservoirs, one located at the Twin Dragon Bridge with 3000m³ and the second is to build size 100m³  reservoir near the Rossey embassy by installing the automatic pump machine.

For all project costs, is the responsibility of the government in Phnom Penh that is responsible for all expenses. Additionally, Phnom Penh has dug tunnel sewage along some of Sothearos Street as well as Mao Tse Tung Boulevard.
