The Korean government has approved Cambodian request for an additional loan to rehabilitate National Road 48 and is ready to sign on April 24, 2020, in preparation for bidding.
The agreement was announced at a meeting on the request for additional loans for National Road 48 between a representative of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) and representatives from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) of the Republic of Korea on April 22, 2020.
H.E So Victor, Secretary of State of Ministry of Public Works and Transport said, “The Korean Government has already approved the request for the additional load of this renovation project. Now, the MPWT and the Ministry of Economy and Finance will deliberately review the agreement draft before signing on April 24, 2020, and further proceed for bidding.”
The renovation of National Road 28 from Sre Ambel to Koh Kong Province with a length of 150km costs US$67 million under the Korea Government’s loan.
This project is to renovate from DBST type to AC type with a higher quality in order to boost Cambodians transportations as a part to the economic growth and facilitate the local commutation and reduce the poverty as a government’s measure.(This news came from Construction-Property.com)
