PM Hun Sen Decides to establish an Inter-Ministerial Commission to Promote the Construction of PP-Bavet Expressway

Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Head of the Royal Government of Cambodia, has issued a decision on the establishment of an inter-ministerial commission to accelerate the implementation of the Phnom Penh-Bavet Expressway Infrastructure Project proposed by China Railway International Group., Ltd under Construction-business framework.

According to the decision dated July 15, 2020, the 17-member inter-ministerial committee is chaired by H.E Sun Chanthol, Senior Minister, Minister of Public Works and Transport.

Last year, Minister of Public Works and Transport,HE Sun Chanthol led a delegation of the Ministry and experts to inspect the traffic congestion on National Road No. 1 at the Bavet International Border Crossing between Cambodia and Vietnam with the participation of HE Nguyen Van The, Minister of Transport of Vietnam, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Representative of the Council for the Development of Cambodia and other stakeholders.The inspection was conducted to respond as well as to find procedures to address the concerns of the private sector regarding traffic congestion of trucks across the border between Cambodia and Vietnam to be able to transport goods and raw materials for production and export in time.(This news came from KampucheaThmey.com)
