29 roads in capital have been temporarily repaired to facilitate travelling

Officials from the Phnom Penh Municipal Department of Public Works claim that 29 roads in Phnom Penh that have been damaged by floods recently; have been temporarily repaired by the Ministry of Public Works and Administration of Phnom Penh to facilitate people's travelling. 

Sam Piseth, Director of the Department of Public Works and Transport of Phnom Penh, said on November 3 that after the floods hit Phnom Penh, some roads were damaged. Currently, the Ministry of Public Works and Administration of Phnom Penh has been temporarily repairing to facilitate people's travelling. In fact, National Road No. 4 has been repaired, while Road 20A, Road 6A have been temporarily repaired and put into temporary operation, while other roads are being repaired. 

Piseth said that after the floods receded, 29 roads in Phnom Penh were damaged, some severely damaged, some moderately damaged and some slightly damaged. Roads that are badly damaged need to be assessed by the Ministry before implementation, but we have also temporarily repaired them to avoid accidents such as National Road 2. He said that for moderate and minor damage, the Phnom Penh Capital Administration will start repairing continuously, while Stung Prek Tnaot Delta Dam Road has been repaired.

He also confirmed that Street 217 or a section of Chamkar Doung Road, which was severely flooded from Prek Chrey Bridge to the roundabout, could allow small vehicles to traffic, while trucks are not allowed to travel for fear of damaging the foundation.
