According to the report, up to now, the Ministry has approved 2541 construction projects with a construction area of over 10.79 million square meters and an investment of over US$4.8 billion. Among them, 33 projects invested by foreign-funded private companies have a construction area of over 11.4 million square meters and an investment of over US$400 million.
At present, there are 228 residential projects in satellite city and residential city in Phnom Penh.
According to a local Chinese builder, in traditional Cambodian buildings, residents have been "grounded" villas, suspension buildings, including hotel buildings are below the third floor. Previously, no residential buildings with three or more floors were seen, including Phnom Penh. With the development of Cambodia in recent years and the influx of a large number of foreign investors, the construction industry has developed rapidly, and more than five-storey residential buildings have become fashionable.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Land Planning and Construction of Cambodia, the construction industry alone creates about 220,000 jobs for the Chinese people every day, and the construction industry has become one of the important economic pillars to promote the national economic development.
